Registration:

The conference is limited to members of the twelve member Universities and invited guests only.  Unfortunately, registration is not possible for members of the public or non-affiliated Universities.  If you are not part of an affiliated University but wish to attend future conferences you may wish to consider enrolling in a related degree programme or pursuing an Erasmus or Overseas exchange programme at one of the participating Universities.  Registration for students of the respective Universities is handled locally by the staff representatives, so contact your own staff for specific details and requirements in the first instance.

Arriving by air:

To and From Kennedy (JFK) Airport:

AIR TRAN: The AirTrain at JFK provides connections with MTA New York City Transit subways. Trains arrive every seven to 10 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. Passengers landing at JFK can be at Penn Station in midtown Manhattan in around 35 minutes.

TAXI: There is a flat fee of $45.00 (plus tolls and tip) for Taxi service between JFK and any destination in Manhattan.

To and From  LaGuardia (LGA) Airport:

BUS: The M60 Bus takes you from LaGuardia into Manhattan along 125th street in Harlem and connects to various Manhattan subway line for service throughout Manhattan (standard $2.25 MetroCard fare)

TAXI: Taxi service is available from LaGuardia with an average cost of between $21.00-30.00 (not including tolls and tip) to Midtown Manhattan (no flat fee service from LGA to Manhattan)

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The fastest and easiest way to get around NYC is on the MTA subways and buses. The fare for a subway or local bus ride is $2.25 regardless of distance. With a pay-per-ride MetroCard you can get 10 trips for the price of 9. You get an automatic free transfer between subway and bus, or between buses.

Other MTA fare options (depending on your anticipated travel and length of stay) are:

1-Day Fun Pass Cost: $8.25 – Good for unlimited subway and local bus rides from first use until 3 a.m. the following day. Sold at MetroCard Vending Machines.

7-Day Unlimited Ride MetroCard Cost: $27 – Good for unlimited subway and local bus rides until midnight, 7 days from day of first use. Sold at MetroCard Vending Machines and from Subway booths

NOTE: Fun Pass and Unlimited MetroCards cannot be used again at the same subway station or the same bus route for 18 minutes.

Non-EU nationals should consult their embassy.

International travelers need to register for the Electronic System for Travel Authorization 72 hours before their departure. The registration process takes about 10 minutes an requires a valid passport and a credit card (application fee is 14 $).
